Job Description

The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body.  We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges, and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are looking for an Events Delivery Coordinator to work within our Operations directorate in the Events Management team to provide high quality customer service and support to enable the planning and delivery of events. The successful candidate must have experience working in a fast-paced complex environment, following processes, and juggling multiple tasks.

The successful candidate will be required to be confident enough to Liaise with internal and external customers to provide support during delivery of events. They should be willing to contribute to the organisation's continuous improvement initiatives through identification, analysis and recommendation of process improvements, efficiency savings and potential required changes to policy within their own area of work. 

Additionally, you will be expected to:

  • Be responsible for identifying requirements and deploying resources effectively to ensure that tasks are completed accurately, timeously and within SQA policies and procedures of all Quality Assurance Programmes.
  • Provide updates on progress against plan and report on the status of risks to ensure all tasks are completed within specified deadlines.
  • Assist with planning meetings and events across a variety of locations.
  • Work with confidential material ensuring security of materials.
  • Create and maintain records, standard reports, and spreadsheets to ensure information is up-to-date, easy to access and accurate.
  • Conduct system/UAT testing to ensure systems are fit for purpose when required.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer service using good communication skills.
  • Receive and report feedback from customers and clients and to actively make efforts to address any issues, seeking to identify continuous improvement opportunities wherever possible.
  • Respond to queries and provide advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding specific SQA policies and procedures. You may also be asked to support other projects, producing documentation and correspondence relating to procedures to ensure that SQA policy and procedure is accurately reflected, quality standards are maintained, and all information is up-to-date.
  • Process Fees and Expenses within tight timescales.
  • Book travel and accommodation.

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 6 (SVQ3) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role. Experience of using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) would be hugely beneficial.

Candidates are expected to be flexible in terms of working hours as flexible working patterns will be required during busy periods of the year. Weekend working will be required during busy periods.
